Cheers to the End of My First Tax Season! | And a Free Art Print

Hip hip hooray!  The craziness is over (for at least the next 3 or so months)!!!  For those of you who may not know, I’m a tax accountant by day.  So thank you all for being so understanding during my two month absense.  Now, the taxes are filed and it’s time to resume life and blogging again 😉

Let’s do a quick catch up…. While I was away from the blogosphere, Jake and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary.  We kept it simple as life had been pretty crazy during busy season, so we had a nice dinner, went to see Captain America.  Also, we got to enjoy our leftover wedding cake and watch our wedding video together.  It hardly feels like it’s been a whole year!  But it was definitely a wonderful one and I can’t wait for the next many years together!

In other life news, we are in the market for a house…. (ahhhhh!)  Scary, but super exciting.  As I’m sure you all have noticed, I’m itching to transform a space and try my hands at renovating a home.  (Well more like try Jake’s hands at it, while I provide the designs… jk 😉 I digress…)  I’ll definitely be keeping you all updated as things progress.  (Maybe I will have my own raised garden beds and marble countertops sooner than I imagined!)  Or maybe granite…. in case you are reading this, Jake 😉

Hopefully you’ll see me around much more often now as life slows down… I’d like to wrap up the Decorating for your Personality series soon, as I owe some people a post on their types!

Before I got all busy doing people’s taxes, I was inspired by these neat gem mineral greeting cards I found on Pinterest.  IdlewildCo sold them on Etsy, but they are sold out now.

I mean how cute would these be as little art prints in a closet or dressing room?  I really love watercolor and how these prints combined the softness it has with the hard lines and geometry of mineral shapes.  They really aren’t too hard to make and there are a lot of free watercolor resources online, so here is my version of the diamond print.

This would go so cute on ‘will you be my bridesmaid’ cards or wedding shower invitations too.  I’m working on another to share soon hopefully in an emerald shape.  They are just so fun and simple!  Hope you all enjoy, and I can’t wait to start hanging around here with y’all more often 🙂 Cheers!

    1. Hi Sidney! Sorry to mislead you, but I didn’t actually paint it. I took a free online watercolor print and manipulated it in a computer paint program to get it to look like this. But you could always try taping in the shape you want, that may work if the paper doesn’t get too wet 🙂
