The Friday Five

Can you believe it’s Friday already?  This week has just flown by it seems!  But, I’m excited for another weekend, and maybe some lazy Sunday afternoon football (aka Pinterest time for me ;))  And without further ado….

Friday Five 1.  Apple Pickin’ Time.  Last weekend we visited my hometown and had a lovely time at a local apple orchard.  Let me just say, if I could eat apple cider donuts for breakfast every morning, I would be a happy happy girl….  What are your favorite kinds of apples?  Honeycrisp for me, hands down 🙂

2.   Featured!  On Tuesday night, I was so excited to have my gold leaf bird art featured at Knock off Decor.  Around X people clicked over from the feature 🙂  What an honor!

3.   Curly Hair.  This summer, I have finally come to terms with my naturally curly hair.  While my favorite style is still loose romantic curls, blow drying and curling is such a chore, especially with uncooperative hair.  After reading up a few tricks on how to style naturally curly hair, I am now to a point where I can appreciate and even feel pretty good about my hair (rather than feeling like a crazy lion mane lady;))  The biggest thing I’ve changed is not brushing it after getting out of the shower, this makes all the difference!

4.   Homemade Meatballs.  For the first time ever I made meatballs from scratch!  That’s right, folks, I am now officially a chef 😉  They turned out pretty good, surprisingly.  I used a recipe from South Your Mouth that explained the process very well, and made it relatively smooth sailing!  We topped it off with some faux Swedish meatball sauce.  On a side note, I have a problem with cooking meat…. After each time I touch it, I have to wash my hands well before I open a drawer, or add the next ingredient.  By the time I’m done, I have painfully chapped hands!  And no, I’m definitely not a germaphobe (possibly even the opposite), I just don’t think raw meat is something to be messed with.  Am I crazy, or does anyone else have the same problem?

5.   Fall.  So I’m a little behind the curve with accepting that fall has arrived.  Don’t get me wrong, I love this season!  But, I’m always a little hesitant to bid summer goodbye.  Although the pinterest world welcomed in fall several weeks ago, I now feel that I am finally ready to do the same.  So, I hope to be pinning to my Fall pinterest board some more!  And maybe next year I’ll be more ready for the change of season 🙂
